Ken Mathieson's adaptations of Benny's original scores retain all the swing, beauty and colour of the originals. This CD has a mixture of originals and standards associated with the great man, but also mark the premier recording of the superb Glasgow Suite, specially composed by Benny Carter for the Glasgow Jazz festival. This is a beautifully arranged and swinging album, with all soloists on top form.
