An opportunity to be part of a unique course focusing on contemporary big band music hosted by one of Europe’s finest trumpet soloists, composers and educators. Steve Waterman. Along with tutor Rob Marks, and Special Guest Tutor Alan Barnes, this course will be covering ensemble, improvisation and sectional playing.

A tribute to a truly notable composer, Band-leader and Drummer who passed away in 2008. In a remarkable career, Ganley performed with a whole host of greats from the jazz world and was the house drummer at Ronnie Scott’s.

Tonight’s performers, many of whom were close friends, include: John Horler, Mark Nightingale, Andy Panayi, Alec Dankworth and Alan Barnes.

Incredibly talented trumpeter/composer/arranger Barker leads this exceptional band of internationally renowned musicians who have come together especially for Grassington, featuring a top quartet of Scots piano ace Dave Newton, popular saxophonist Alan Barnes, Berlin-based bassist Phil Donkin, and great drummer Sebastiaan De Krom.
